Conservative Of What?

“Trump will become an undeniably consequential President with the Senate due to vote Saturday to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, consecrating the conservative majority that has long been the impossible dream of the GOP.”
See President Donald Trump’s winning streak
I am often frustrated by USAians. They don’t seem to speak nor understand English…

Consider TFA on the right commenting that Trump has nominated and may soon have confirmed a “conservative” justice to SCOTUS. Kavanaugh

  • apparently had a serious drinking problem,
  • was a serial rapist/fumbler,
  • lied to the Senate’s Justice Committee, and
  • was extremely rude to Democratic members of the committee.

What’s conservative about those things? Nothing. K is not conserving democracy, decency nor social niceties. I think he may well have had a few stiff drinks before his latest interview with the Senate. The lying is the worst thing. Apparently he has a brilliant mind and a crisp memory except when it comes to what he does at parties or answering simple “yes” or “no” questions. In fact it would be more correct to state that K was just another political hack born and raised in the swamp of Washington, a privileged white boy destined to subjugate liberals, youth, women and abused people to second-class justice.

What’s the worst that can happen? He could side with Trump on everything related to Russia, good government, regulation and human rights. He could push to bring back slavery or at least imprisonment for abortion or birth-control. K’s not conservative but regressive. There’s a reason government is frustrating and complex. It’s because government is necessary, not that it’s a burden. Trump’s childish wish to return to simpler days is regressive and not in the best interests of USA or the world and it’s not conservative of anything good.
