Counterattack On Trumpism

“The ruling, from federal Judge Ann Donnelly, in New York, prevented the removal from the US of people with approved refugee applications, valid visas, and “other individuals… legally authorised to enter the United States”.”

See Trump executive order: US judge temporarily halts deportations
Well, it’s refreshing to see some sand on the rails of the Trump slide into depravity. Let’s see whether the issues of constitutionality hold up. The first case should be easy. USA can’t do legislation retroactively banning people who are on their way in with valid documents. Subsequent issues of banning large classes of people also shouldn’t stand. No doubt Trump will waste the time of courts all the way up to SCOTUS. He may actually have a new appointee in place by the time the case propagates if the Senate does its thing. Go DEMs!

“The policy team at the White House developed the executive order on refugees and visas, and largely avoided the traditional interagency process that would have allowed the Justice Department and homeland security agencies to provide operational guidance”

Justin Trudeau, PM of Canada, wrote, “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada”

Chuckle. Trump is building a house of cards. His government will be the laughing stock of USA for the mid-term elections if he’s not impeached earlier. An executive violating the constitution multiple times per week will be noticed. This week has made me proud to be a Canadian.

That’s just silly. People can and do great things collectively. Canada, New Zealand, Iceland, Sweden, Switzerland,… all have great reputations and people make their governments work for them. USA seems to be problematic. The idea that the federal government is the enemy of free people is really stupid. Get out and vote. Trump is only in because too few normal people of good will bothered to vote. I’m not saying Hillary would have been absolutely wonderful but she would have been better by far than Trump. He seems to want to break the country in his first two weeks so Putin can offer to restore order by summer…

Trump’s habit of signing the executive order first and asking questions later has resulted in some real wtf situations (like legal immigrants being prevented from entering the US), and may get him impeached before he has the chance to put a golden pooper in the bathroom of the white house.

Also, notice how all the Trumpies and alt-right websites defend the practice, despite the fact they used to condemn Obama for abusing executive orders.

The worrying thing is that Trump is the kind of person who never admits mistakes, much like the Catholic Church failing to admit the Earth is not the center of the solar system till 1979 (10 years after the first moon landing!). Trump also prefers perpetuating a mistake instead of putting his ego aside and admitting a mea cupla (because the latter would be too loserish for the Donald).

Things are about to get nasty… There is the problem of voting an anti-hero in Office. On the other hand, Hilary was the vilain (puppet of Soros and Saudi Arabia, proud importer of illegal immigrants and exporter of jobs to China).

Conclusion: Take care of yourself and your loved ones first instead of “the collective interest”, don’t expect a single good thing to come from the government or any kind of collective, they are disasters. Try to keep the disaster small.
