Trump’s Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics

“President Donald Trump has accused the media of dishonestly reporting the size of the crowd at his inauguration.

He said the crowd had reached the Washington monument as he spoke at the US Capitol, despite photographic evidence to the contrary.

Later, his White House press secretary said it had been “the largest audience to ever see an inauguration, period”.”

How many times will Trump be caught in a lie before the world knows Emperor Trump I has no clothes? Most sentient beings do rely on their own eyes and photographic evidence. Trump does not. He wants the news to be thus and orders it to be so. That just won’t wash. Attacking the news media over facts not in evidence and obviously inconsistent with facts from independent sources brings discredit to Trump and his whole team. Apparently they still believe lies told repeatedly will be believed. That wears thin.

You be the judge. What do your eyes tell you? Meanwhile a million or more women and supporters with/without pink hats paraded in cities all over the country standing up to Trumpism in all its forms. There is a multiplier effect women have, Trump. They reproduce. They have children who grow into voters. They have friends and family who support them and trust them. Whatever trust Trump needs to build in USA will not happen as long as the boss lies and everyone knows he lies repeatedly and systematically and never withdraws any of his foolish statements of lies. Does he want USA and the world to discount him as mad? It’s working.

CNN is even more direct. They report that news media and former spokesmen for POTUS were equally amazed at the obvious lies being pushed by the Trump-team.

“Ari Fleischer, who had the same job as Spicer during the George W. Bush administration, tweeted, “This is called a statement you’re told to make by the President. And you know the President is watching.””

Amazing. Simply, amazing. Can’t look away from this train-wreck.

Also, Canada stops bus loads of Americans going North to join protests all the time so a bus load of pussy-hat wearing troublemakers being stopped is not the international incident you make it out to be.

  2. There were pairs of images with different zooms involved, but the one I showed is from the same point with the same zoom, so it’s comparable. Check the landmarks.

  3. Ivan says:

What I like is the psychological effect the different zoom levels provide.

Do you expect that any rich cat owning some corporation is going to bother faking images? On my own small scale, I am a rich cat. I don’t bother telling the companies I own shares in what to do. They can run their own affairs well. That’s why I own them. Paranoia is feeling folks are out to get you when they’re not. Check it out.

“How can all of them tell the same story about the attendance?”

Check the ultimate parent ownership. Different “brands”, same owner.

“How could they fake the live coverage by aerial shots? ”

Easy. I suggest you visit the next available SMPTE Conference and Exhibition near you. Then you can see and try out the tools of fakery for yourself. If you want an answer in detail sooner than that you can work your way through SMPTE research journals:

It is all “hiding in plain sight”. Have fun!

  6. That’s half a mile north of the inauguration. It was a small event. No one was blocking the street. The police were on it in a few minutes. I doubt many hundreds of thousands were deterred because of it.

Facts not in evidence. There are so many diverse news services. How can all of them tell the same story about the attendance? How could they fake the live coverage by aerial shots? What guy behind the curtain is pulling all those strings? It’s possible that folks took pictures before the crowd had filled in but I think you’ll find the cheap seats fill in sooner. This picture gives the time as 2017-1-20 12:36. see http://www.cbsnews.com/news/photos-president-trumps-inauguration-crowd-vs-president-obamas/

Folks who were there near the obelisk report breathing space…

“On the streets around the National Mall, security barricades funneled pedestrians into narrow cattle chutes, resulting in dense crowds. But on the end near the monument – the less desirable real estate for inauguration viewing – the crowds were much thinner.”

The crowds weren’t thin at all when Obama was first inaugurated.

Believe your own eyes or Trump’s lies I say.

  9. Kurkosdr wrote, “if your life was threatened by attending an event and there were multiple calls for violence in the surrounding area by multiple groups (most of them well-funded by Soros) and also calls to block mass transit, you ‘d probably change your mind about attending too.”

Crap! There was little or no violence in the inauguration. Folks came in great numbers. More could have come if they wanted. They just weren’t there. Security was incredibly tight. Washington DC was probably one of the safest cities on the planet during the inauguration. Notice that Trump nor his sycophants quoted fear as a reason for the low turnout. They denied there was low turnout. How can that be? There was no suppression of citizens to attend. Trump stated he gave out all the tickets he had. I didn’t see any empty seats close in. Everyone who wanted to come could come. Trump did keep some Canadians from coming to the pink hat day, though. He’s a fearful man.

  10. ram says:

Sorry Robert, but I watched the live feed. President Trump was telling the truth at his CIA speech. The broadcast media is lying.

As a professional member of SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) and the ASSG (Australian Screen Sound Guild), my friends and I are well aware of the fakery in broadcast media “news”, after all we make our living doing the technical bits and sometimes a fair bit of the “creative” bits as well. Most, not just much, of TV “news” is made up, as in fake, bold faced lying.

  11. Kurkosdr says:

Well, if your life was threatened by attending an event and there were multiple calls for violence in the surrounding area by multiple groups (most of them well-funded by Soros) and also calls to block mass transit, you ‘d probably change your mind about attending too. IMO it’s strange that Trump managed to gather the crowd he did under those circumstances.

  12. Well, that’s better. You can see holes in the crowd in the last few cells before the obelisk. It’s hundreds of thousands, not millions for sure. Just estimate the number of people in a cell by rows X columns and multiply by the number of cells.

  13. No, it doesn’t. The crowd closest to the podium was indeed similar. The issue is the overflowing crowd near the obelisk. You can’t see it at all from the podium. The pictures I showed were taken from the top of the obelisk, both the same point of view showing mostly full areas near the obelisk at Obama’s inauguration and mostly empty at Trump’s. Each rectangular cell can hold 30-40K people, so there were hundreds of K people more out for Obama.

  14. dougman says:

Furthermore, this pretty much tells us what we want to know.

I don’t know Pogsey, here is fat better picture. Sure seems like a few million in attendance.

Not yet. It will happen soon though. I did discuss a meat-grinder at the party last night. Will go with a less expensive model so I should have the funds to pay for some of these by next month.

“Amazing. Simply, amazing. Can’t look away from this train-wreck.”

Speak for yourself. With all your lame projects, no wonder people mock you so. Tell me, did you order your electric three-wheeler? What about your cello/ordoid/amada board of a wanna-be server weenie board?
