Trump Leading Folks Astray

“The post-election, pre-presidential Donald Trump has used social media with the same abandon as his campaign self — yes, to get his message out, unfiltered by the media he loathes, but also as a bludgeon against critics, a tool for disseminating misinformation and, as he nears the inaugural, and an outlet for breeding confusion in business and international relations, purposefully or not.”

See Trump’s still going wrong on Twitter
During the election campaign, Trump used Twitter as a means to sidestep legitimate news media which tended to criticize or add commentary. He wanted to control everything in his stream of propaganda.

However, while skilled at producing his content in volume, he had a very high error rate and/or showed himself to be a compulsive liar. He’s still doing that. He must know that one can fool some of the people all of the time but not all the people. Mustn’t he?

I think he does not. The longer he Tweets, the greater the number of rational human beings will come to loathe Trump and all for which he stands. In fact, I think it’s clear that Trump stands for nothing at all, no morality, no humanity, no sharing nor caring, nothing. Clearly, the first thing that pops into his mind when criticized by anyone is to attack the messenger with lies quite often. That might stir a mob but it’s a losing proposition in the long run. All right-thinking people will just get more organized to oppose him and eventually topple him from power sooner or later.

That could even come from within his own party at the rate things are going, just from nominees to the cabinet. I doubt you could find many in the Senate who do not object strenuously to some of his more outrageous picks. Like his Tweets, his picks are blatantly wrong for the country.

    “legitimate news media” ???

What the (expletive deleted) is that? Certainly nothing that is licensed by the State such as any broadcast media. That is true of any country. In the case of North America all the (very few) media companies are all owned/controlled by an even smaller set of common shareholders. If you want to know their real agenda look up their ultimate parent ownership.

“Let’s see how you spin this, this, and this so Trump doesn’t look like an idiot.”

Twitter, to me, is akin to bathroom scrawl.

By the way, white genocide is a real thing.

    Eh.

  3. Chuckle or sad depending on point of view… According to Washington Post, Trump’s dear old dad was involved with the KKK back in the day. They weren’t after blacks in those days but Catholics… Now Trump is after Muslims and hispanics. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

This gives new meaning to the expression, “Great Again”TM. Mussolini came to power promising to make the trains run on time. Trump couldn’t reTweet that, so he came up with a bunch of others: the wall, “Great Again”, rapists and murderers, China etc. It’s sad when one gets elected for telling the biggest lies more often than competitors. One thing that will be great is the level of corruption in Washington DC. It will be one or two orders of magnitude greater than anything Clinton envisioned.

    Evidence?

Let’s see how you spin this, this, and this so Trump doesn’t look like an idiot.

  5. dougman says:

” as if that was evidence.”

Well, at least I provide evidence unlike that Wizard idiot.

  6. dougman says:

“Because I am not interested in wasting my time”

Then as you say, why come here and bother posting, if you despise wasting time? Your non-sequitor is mind-numbing to say the least. But evidence shows that you do continually present yourself here.

So shall we take your “not interested in wasting my time” argument as a statement that you will never return?

  7. dougman wrote about motherjones, as if that was evidence.

This is what motherjones has: “if that is accurate, only 3 percent of Donald Trump’s last 3,197 tweets—at most—actually came from his fingers. (Possibly less if one of his aides also uses an iPhone.)”

Their thesis being that Trump has clerks transcribe his thoughts and Tweet on his behalf. That may happen but many of his Tweets happen in the wee hours. How many clerks keep those hours? Do they have three shifts per day? Regardless of whether he Tweets personally or via some helper, they are still his Tweets. So, the link is evidence of what? Speculation? Suggestions? Bad maths? That’s not real good evidence of anything, yet those Tweets exist and are repugnant to decent human beings. If those Tweets were repugnant to Trump, why didn’t he fire that clerk? He’s as deplorable as the clerk.

  8. Wizard Emeritus says:

“I provide evidence, why not you?”

Because I am not interested in wasting my time with someone who is clearly trolling.

  9. See Donald Trump Retweets ‘WhiteGenocideTM’ Account—Again

Here’s the status of that account. How did Trump get to retweet from it? Probably he’s a follower, not a leader.
“This account has been suspended. Learn more about why Twitter suspends accounts or return to your timeline.”

    Fortunately, there’s TweetSave

N.B. I do not endorse WhiteGenocideTM. I merely link to its content to make the point that Trump does retweet racist garbage.

  10. dougman says:

I provide evidence, why not you?

  11. Wizard Emeritus says:

“So for anyone to set there and say he is an ass-hat, should provide evidence supporting such a statement.”

Would you accept delivery if we wasted our time doing so?

  12. Wizard Emeritus says:

“So you have nothing to proffer? MOTION DENIED…Lack of evidence and hearsay.

It doesn’t work that way Dougie.

  13. dougman says:

    Twitter is dead anyways.

    http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/21/twitter-is-toast-and-the-stock-is-not-even-worth-10-analyst.html

In addition, Donald doesn’t even send his own tweets anyways.

    http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2015/09/does-donald-trump-send-his-own-tweets

So for anyone to set there and say he is an ass-hat, should provide evidence supporting such a statement.

  14. dougman says:

“He retweets White Nationalists without a second thought.”

    Evidence?

  15. Ivan says:

    Trump doesn’t lie on Twitter

He retweets White Nationalists without a second thought. I may not count that as evidence of him being racist but that is a far cry from not lying.

  16. dougman wrote, “it could be said that Robert Pogson “Leads Folks Astray”, with his preposterous ideology on computers.”

You can say all kinds of things but that doesn’t make them true. Folks who have followed my advice have done very well. e.g. TLW has had rather trouble-free computing since she quit using TOOS. ditto for several schools where I’ve made drastic changes. More seats working better is all good.

  17. dougman says:

Taking a look from the fifty-thousand foot view, it could be said that Robert Pogson “Leads Folks Astray”, with his preposterous ideology on computers.

  18. dougman says:

“Your tinfoil hat needs adjusting Dougie.”

So you deny the rise of alternative media? Wow, how myopic are you!

  19. dougman says:

“As far as where the evidence is, you’re a smart guy, go find it yourself – the video tapes was all over the media.”

So you have nothing to proffer? MOTION DENIED…Lack of evidence and hearsay.

  20. Wizard Emeritus says:

“If the news business wasn’t subsidized it could not exist. This is why you see a rise in alternative media and news, which the mainstream wants to shutdown. Calling alternative news as fake, when CNN and a hosts of others broadcast and print fake stories all day, every day.”

Your tinfoil hat needs adjusting Dougie.

  21. Wizard Emeritus says:

“Video taped interviews? Where is the evidence of him lying??”

Now Dougie, you know full well that the lie comes when he denies having said something previously on tape. As far as where the evidence is, you’re a smart guy, go find it yourself – the video tapes was all over the media.

  22. dougman wrote, “Trump doesn’t lie on Twitter”

See Trump slams Carrier union leader Chuck Jones in latest Twitter attack.

    Lie: Trump saved 1100 jobs
Fact: Trump may have had something to do with retaining 730 job.

Come, on. What are you going to tell the 620 people whose jobs are going south? Did Trump tell them the truth or not? What’s he doing attacking their rep who raises the issue? Isn’t Trump for the working man/woman?

  23. dougman says:

Video taped interviews? Where is the evidence of him lying??

“Trump actually repeats lies quite regularly on Twitter and decries CNN’s fact-checking.”

Trump doesn’t lie on Twitter; CNN does in fact make news up Robert. How many times shall I beat this into your head? CNN is paid by the U.S. government and other governments, for reporting on some events, and not reporting on others.

If the news business wasn’t subsidized it could not exist. This is why you see a rise in alternative media and news, which the mainstream wants to shutdown. Calling alternative news as fake, when CNN and a hosts of others broadcast and print fake stories all day, every day.

Six corporations control 90% of all U.S. media:
GE, NewsCorp, Disney, Viacom, Time Warner and CBS.

  24. dougman wrote, “Donald speaks the truth, whereas CNN promulgates lies”.

Uh, how so? Trump actually repeats lies quite regularly on Twitter and decries CNN’s fact-checking. Trump is a very confused and/or misleading individual whereas CNN goes out of the way to get the story straight. e.g. The Carrier jobs. How did Trump get it wrong? Hearing what he wanted to hear and repeating it? How did CNN find out that Trump lied? They checked. Repeat this cycle dozens of times. There’s even a theory that Trump rates the last thing he’s heard/read as most truthful and that’s why his story keeps changing: “I didn’t say that. That’s not what I meant. The media lie.”

  25. Wizard Emeritus says:

“Donald speaks the truth, whereas CNN promulgates lies and disinformation, which you seem all to willingly to gobble up Robert.”

And of course all of those videotaped interviews that have him actually saying the things that he denies saying don’t count, eh Dougie?

Only a blind fool thinks that Don the Con speaks the truth Dougie.

  26. dougman says:

Donald speaks the truth, whereas CNN promulgates lies and disinformation, which you seem all to willingly to gobble up Robert.
