Want Work? Dump Trump!

“Shares in Lockheed Martin have fallen after President-elect Donald Trump said he would cut the cost of its F-35 Joint Strike Fighter after taking office.

He tweeted: “F-35 program and cost is out of control. Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20.”

The F-35 is the Pentagon’s most expensive weapons programme, costing about $400bn (£316bn).

Lockheed shares were down 4.2% at $248.51 in morning trading.”

See Lockheed Martin shares suffer after Trump F-35 tweet
The solution is simple. If Trump is going to hammer legitimate businesses with his awful Tweets, businesses targeted by Trump should relocate. Canada will take them. Mexico will take them. UK, France, Germany will take them. If I were Carrier or Lockheed, I would relocate ASAP and take hundreds of thousands of jobs with me. This must be what voters wanted when they gave riotous support of a megalomaniac like Trump.

If Lockheed-Martin moved to Russia or China they would cripple those countries defense manufacturing. Not a bad idea. Let them catch the virus of massive corruption in military procurements. That would certainly slow them down!

    No, she’d be a hermaphrodite.

“It’s not USA either. America is the north, south and central continents of the “western hemisphere”. It’s not one country.”

Are you stupid or something? America is common vernacular for the United States, to suggest your usage, I would have stated, Americas. the plural version.

    DERP.

  4. dougman says:

“while your boy Trump won the electoral college, he got buried by 2.6million votes nationwide.”

Ermmmm, is that before or after you subtract all the illegal and dead voters? In addition, a popularity contest is NOT how elections work in America.

“If the Democrats wanted to win all they had to do was pick someone that wasn’t tied down with 50 years of political baggage that has made working class Americans hate her.”

This election is like herpes, it just keeps on giving.

  7. Wizard Emeritus says:

    “Sorry, America isn’t Canada.”

And you don’t represent America Dougie. Remember, while your boy Trump won the electoral college, he got buried by 2.6million votes nationwide. That was, you will recall, almost as much as W. Won by in 2004. If Trump is as smart as he says, he will keep that fact in mind as he tries to lead the USA.

If he’s not there is always 2018…

    “On “LifeStyle“”

You are going to cite a trendy/hip magazine, as your source material? LOL!!

“So, perhaps USA should ramp up immigration and get single-payer Medicare and dump Trump”

Sorry, America isn’t Canada. We don’t want anymore imports of Muslims, not very useful. Now first generation Asians, Mexicans or even Africans are mainly very-hardworking individuals, that don’t try to cram their “lifestyle” down our throats and demanding concession due to religious beliefs.

  10. dougman wrote, “Citing GDP proves nothing Robert”.

Quit moving goalposts. You rant about nothing and deny everything. Canada is thriving and has thrived for most of my lifetime despitebecause of hefty immigration. Your point is what?

    PS:
On “LifeStyle“, Canada rates 13th position while USA is way back at 24th spot. Germany is 15th. Qatr, BTW, is way ahead of USA in that rating, at 8th… So, perhaps USA should ramp up immigration and get single-payer universal Medicare and dump Trump and …

  11. dougman says:

Citing GDP proves nothing Robert. Qatar has a $132,000 GDP per capita, but that does not mean it is better then the U.S. does it?

Since your prevailing world view seems to be stuck on more money = better life. You use GDP as a quick and dirty way to infer a country’s standard of living. This is, to use a technical term, complete crap. Not only can money not buy happiness, but not all spending is good spending.

GDP is not a flawless measure, especially when it comes to economic welfare. GDP per capita is an average and as such doesn’t capture inequality or give a clear picture of poverty, or assess the impacts of economic activity on the environment. It also does not consider the value of leisure and longevity. It certainly doesn’t serve as a perfect indicator of the quality of life.

The Boston FED put out a short write-up on this topic titled, “How Do We Measure Standard of Living?”. I suggest you read it.

  12. dougman wrote, “So was Germany at one time.”

  14. dougman wrote, “Few thousand? More like 300K are due in 2017. At that rate, it wouldn’t take long to overwhelm your country.”

  15. dougman says:

    “A few thousand immigrants”

Few thousand? More like 300K are due in 2017. At that rate, it wouldn’t take long to overwhelm your country.

Even though there are 1.3 million unemployed people in Canada, that country’s government has announced that it seeks a further 300,000 “immigrants” into the country next year.

  16. dougman wrote, “he will have created a welfare state in Canada by bringing in more useless immigrants.”

A few thousand immigrants can’t possibly do that in a country of 30+ million. Further, if immigration has done what it did in the past, let the good times roll. I remember when Canada admitted many refugees after WWII. Canada thrived.

  17. dougman says:

    Enjoy your carbon taxes.

Trudeau has created zero jobs, he will have created a welfare state in Canada by bringing in more useless immigrants.

He promised to legalize pot, which he hasn’t yet done.

Chicks love his hair, and Canada is feminized with white knights everywhere.

The Leftists have dominated Canada, all I can do is sit back and watch it burn.

In the past, America designed and built planes in two-years to support the war effort. Now it takes what, ten years at best? We could have fought and won two consecutive world war two’s before this wasted heap becomes ready.

  19. dougman says:

Being a proponent for NAFTA Robert, you sure speak out both sides of your mouth.

NAFTA stole jobs from the U.S. and you were all for that, but now you call-out your opponent, president elect Donald Trump for allegedly doing the exact same thing.

Bringing back manufacturing to America, would make America great again. Look at all the trade deficits we have standing.

In 2015, the total U.S. trade deficit was $531.5 billion. That’s because it imported $2.7618 trillion of goods and services while exporting $2.2303 trillion. The deficit is higher than in 2013 when it was only $478 billion. That’s because the dollar strengthened 25% in 2014 and 2015. But, it’s less than the record $762 billion trade deficit in 2006. A lower deficit means exports are gaining on imports.

That’s good for businesses that will create more U.S. jobs.

  20. dougman says:

No this is about inflated costs and expenditures. Of late, the pentagon cannot account for $6.5T; what business would still BE in business if they could not account for trillions? Both State and Federal tax authorities would flip is you were one dollar off.

    DRAIN THE SWAMP!

  21. dougman wrote, “Saving a trillion dollars is a worthy goal no?”

Saving money is one of my things, as you know. This is about jobs not dollars. Trump proclaimed that he would bring back jobs and here he is harassing businesses who may well decide to relocate altogether just to be free of Trump. I realize Lockheed has lots of ties but I can see them distributing production to reduce their footprint in USA if it will avoid threats from Trump.

  22. dougman says:

Robert, obviously you have no clue. Saving a trillion dollars is a worthy goal no?

The only thing the F-35 has going for it, is it’s V/STOL aircraft capabilities. Whoopee-do! Why have had carriers that can launch planes for what, fifty years now. So whats the point?

The Marines use the harriers but never NEEDED them.
