Linux-4.4 Imminent

“I’d almost certainly ready to just release the final 4.4, but will probably do an rc8 just to not open the merge window while people are still recovering from the holidays.”
See Linux-Kernel Archive: Linux 4.4-rc7
Linus Torvalds has just released Linux 4.4-rc7, so in a week or two we could have Linux 4.4 out. This is of special interest to me because Greg Kroah-Hartman has adopted this for long term support. I expect to install it on an ARMed device sooner or later and replace Beast. I expect to live long enough to see that… I’ve also made a tiny contribution to Linux that might come out with 4.4, a spelling error-correction in a comment… 😉

Linux 4.4 is imminent, and the Peanut Gallery can muster nothing other than silence?

How very sad, Robert. How very sad indeed. May I contribute a comment by asking “Who on earth cares?”

Perhaps not. I shall try to be more constructive, then.

Does Linux 4.4 promise a more secure way for sages, such as yourself, who have no clue as to how declarative languages such as systemd work?

I sincerely hope so, Mr Pogson. You’re a little too old and weighty for potty-training, aren’t you?

A spelling error in a comment?

    Good Lord, Robert. What next?
