Lately, GNU/Linux has been on a tear in Canada.
Check out StatCounter’s data for weekends:
2.8% yesterday! Don’t blame me. I was assembling my new tractor, visiting, eating and watching Netflix. The new tractor requires just the lifting and installing of the engine. The other assembly went pretty well except that the battery box interferes with the toolbox built into the console. It was pretty easy except that I could not figure out how the engine speed control connects to the engine. I may have to manually set the speed on the engine itself. Of course, there are a few “extra” parts and another box I have not yet opened… The machine is much easier to roll around with the brakes off. 😉 My son came by later but I was too exhausted to install the engine so we just visited. Dexter has gone through a bunch of lovely ladies as his body-count rises. I wonder if he’s been killing off XP machines secretly in Canada.
UPDATE – added data for Sunday, 2015-03-15. Yep, the trend continues. GNU/Linux is thriving in Canada and my new tractor has an engine. Today, I will finish connecting the drive belts, clamping the engine in place, the wiring/electrical system, adjust linkages to controls and add the plough. Sometime this week I will top up fluids, buy fuel and fire it up.
