Intel: Small Cheap Computers The New Normal

I’ve been harping for years now that small cheap computers are the way to go. There’s just no need for big boxes except in a few cases like huge computing power, storage or RAM. Look what smartphones can do with a tiny battery. Just about everything can be done with a tiny handful of chips that could be placed anywhere, like inside the monitor or keyboard. “will get so small that it disappears. We’re reinventing the home theater PC, it tucks behind your TV… you just won’t see it anymore.”

A world where the PC and the OS are hardly noticed by users is a world where competition can thrive and consumers get what they pay for unlike the old days when M$ and “partners” forced everyone who wanted a bicycle to buy a Cadillac. Small cheap computers naturally fit with GNU/Linux because they are easier to sell without M$’s “tax”.
