April In May

The Europian Union will hold parliamentary elections in May. “France’s free software advocacy group April has launched a campaign to get candidates for the European elections of 22 – 25 May 2014 to state their support for these type of software solutions.”
Getting a politician to take a public policy on anything takes some effort but this certainly is a great way to break the fog of delusion that M$ has spread globally. Such a campaign should allow every politician at least to be aware of the advantages of FLOSS in government. When the inevitable decisions about IT and budgets have to be made, having the decision-makers aware of alternatives to the Wintel treadmill is a wonderful thing. Monopoly is such a stupid choice by comparison.

I recommend Debian GNU/Linux as a good basis for any IT-system whether for individuals, businesses or organizations large and small because it works for them rather than M$ and “partners”.
