Oh, Canada, Why Aren’t You Standing On Guard For GNU/Linux?

I am sad at this moment that Canada lacks the gumption of many European, South American, African and Asian countries to use more FLOSS. It’s the right way to use IT. Even our neighbour to the south uses more FLOSS , according to StatCounter, and they are the home of that other OS…

Why is that? I’ve had good results using it at home and in many different schools. Others have done the same. Our government sees what’s happening elsewhere and drags its feet. Is it not a priority to save the taxpayers’ money? Is it not a priority to avoid more malware? Is it not a priority to avoid being led around by the nose by M$?

What about you retailers? Aren’t you tired of M$’s stuff gathering dust on those shelves? Aren’t you tired of selling FLOSS only on ARMed devices and a few Chromebooks? Wouldn’t it be great to sell GNU/Linux on everything as well? Wouldn’t more sales be good for business?

Sigh. Maybe 2014 will be a better year. 🙁
