Intel: If You Can’t Beat ’em, Join ’em

“In what can only be described as highly ironic, Intel is set to make what will easily be one of the first quad-core 64-bit ARM processors.
On Tuesday, Altera announced that its Stratix 10 system-on-a-chip (SoC) will incorporate a "high-performance, quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor."”

That’s more like it. Instead of clinging to the Wintel monopoly and hosing competitors with bribes to OEMs and others, Intel will be making ARMed systems with Intel’s best technology at 14 nm. It doesn’t get much better than that. The chip will be able to run off sunshine and air or do some serious computing with very little drain on a battery.
