I just checked the stats. As of today, this is our busiest month yet and we still have 3.5 days to go. Every couple of months we set a new record. Still, the server is not working that hard:
18:03:41 up 5 days, 12:43, 0 users, load average: 0.27, 0.17, 0.09

About Robert Pogson

I am a retired teacher in Canada. I taught in the subject areas where I have worked for almost forty years: maths, physics, chemistry and computers. I love hunting, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms, too.

    Mr OE:

No, it isn’t Mr Pogson’s fault. I suppose he could be a little less tolerant of Mr McCrae and Mr Oiaohm, but then he’s Canadian, which automatically makes him one of nature’s Nice Guys.

You do know what an “ad hominem” attack is, don’t you? Or does the concept only come into force when it’s wielded as a retaliatory act?

As you gotten busier over the years it seems the amount of ad-hominium attacks has gone up in the comments and general signal to noise down…not your fault though.

Any idea what caused the reboot five days ago, Mr Pogson? It’s rather unusual for a Linux server.

Even Windows Server 2008 manages to stay up for several weeks at a time…
