Samsung and Google Will Unveil Android/Linux 4.0 on Tuesday, 11 October, 2011

It has been a long wait but the combined version of Android/Linux suitable for tablet or smart phone or any PC, for that matter, will be released on 2011-10-11. Specs on the device are pretty cool:

  • 1280×720 screen (curved, too)
  • dual core ARM 1.2gHz
  • 1080p video capture

It’s a real personal computer, folks. I doubt it will be cheap, being the first of its kind to market, but cheap will come. For now, they are very shiny.

UPDATE Postponed… Damned those marketing Droids. They think the time is not right. Don’t they know we are tired of waiting?

  1. Android Dave says:

It’s true that this will not replace a PC as tablets just aren’t there yet but this is far from an iphone (ipad) clone… Android has set itself apart from apple in almost every area. The only thing apple can do well is come up with a pretty UI.

Oh, it’s just another iPhone clone, #pogson. Get a clue. Are you going to abandon your own computer and use one? No. Me either.
