M$ Fires Its Foot Machine-gun

Why bother competing on price/performance when you can just denigrate the other guy’s products? M$ has made a mistake this time, however. Folks are laughing at them. Then there’s the possibility of being sued for false advertising/alienating customers/besmirching the brand. M$’s doing a great job of besmirching its own brand so Google probably does not need to respond. So much for being “all in” for the cloud and stuff like that. M$ is clawing for roots and grubs for subsistence in the market. After more than a decade of throwing mud at GNU/Linux without anything sticking, you would think they would not bother with Android/Linux or applications of GNU/Linux on the web, but, heh, we can just sit back and watch the train wreck.

    Wow, they’re getting desperate.

Well, bashing the competition should make a Linux user feel at home. Haven’t you been doing just that for quite some time?

–Well, bashing the competition should make a Linux user feel at home.–
MK History has you with a problem. Bash competition with FUD in the Linux vs Mirosoft. Microsoft did first.

http://www.overclock.net/t/569458/microsoft-attack-linux-at-the-retail-level-probably-not-56k-friendly This is the last in a long line. Those sides are straight out of Microsoft themselves. There are errors in them. Also the fact Microsoft try to spread this information in secret so it never has peer review leading back to them. They stopped doing it at major Microsoft Conferences after ending up being public-ally displayed as a lieing that Linux did not have particularly features when it in fact had them first before windows.

Yes most of the MS Troll arguments are not the MS Trolls own ideas. They are ideas dreamed up by Microsoft and distributed through there retail workers training program.

Bashing competition is Microsoft trait. Its a trait Microsoft taught the Linux world. Microsoft was bashing there competition before Linux exists with FUD. Funny enough is IBM taught Microsoft the trait.

When Microsoft is losing instead of making a better product or doing proper feature to feature reviews they go lets collect some FUD and distribute this threw our training system.

Not like the Linux guys don’t have there own internal critics http://lunduke.com/?p=2953 . This is one of many internals who pull Linux apart for defects and get the information correct. They also do they also do Windows. They get time at Linux Conferences. This is why MS trolls are battling up hill so much. Linux world and Microsoft are both in the training game to win the marketing game. Linux guys get better quality training.

This is the problem that lot of the MS Troll master control sites have. They base there attacks without the information.

Uhhh what ads is M$ inferring? I never see any ads, just use Adblock and a edited hosts file. YouTube commercials do not show up anymore and you get to have more real estate on your screen.

Wow, talk about pushing a negative, even when its untrue. Same goes with the lame GMAIL-man video. M$ should spend money on creating things that people actually want and $1000 tablet’s are not it and speaking negatively about your competition will just attract more to them. Remember the “Streisand Effect”? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect

Perhaps people should “Bing IT” to determine how ignorant they really are in believing that M$ is be all, end all of IT.

“Too many people are searching for it on Google!!!”

Regarding Canonicals advertisement of “Avoid the pain of Windows 8.” I heard that they were threatened with being dragged into court.

No one uses Internet Exploder! If you do you chances of getting infected are certain.

If you use Google Chrome on Windows , it is less likely, if on Linux you will never get a virus, as they are all written for Windows.

Its comical to malware jacked websites try to get you to click on a button to download a .exe file, which won;t work anyways on Linux.

Do you have an Android malware horror story? Reply with #DroidRage with your best/worst story and we may have a get-well present for you.

If you ONLY download apps from the Google market and never, ever ROOT your phone, then Malware is a non-problem. For M$ to try and say that Android phones are riddled with malware is comedy at best.

M$ should know, they know malware, viruses, trojans and blue screens like no other!

I know what the present will be, Windows 8!! They can not sell it now, so they are giving it away. :)

The patching of M$ software flaws never ends!

With Linux you get updates that improves the software, with Windows your updates apply patches to software errors, hence the name. Huge difference!

Microsoft today announced it will deliver seven security updates next week to patch 11 vulnerabilities, including the first that apply to Internet Explorer 10 (IE10), the company’s newest browser.

As it did last month, Microsoft will also patch Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Server 2012, its new desktop, tablet and server operating systems.

Five of the seven updates will be marked as “critical,” Microsoft’s highest threat ranking, while the remaining pair will be labeled “important,” the Redmond, Wash. developer said in an advance warning published today.

Just as i have mentioned before … Microsoft is The Neanderthal of our time. Can’t adopt new culture and “global climate change” fast enough.

Douglas is a very vocal opponent of Windows, yet he apparently likes it very much as it allows him to sell snakeoil software to his dumb customers. Well, that’s no surprise. Almost all Linux evangelists are hypocrites.

Hey, Douglas, can I have a quote? I need to migrate my aunt’s dumpster computer to Linux. I want to make a supercomputer out of it. I heard Linux is great for turning computers into supercomputers. But I clearly need an expert. You seem to be an expert, Douglas.

EUG, whats does that have to do with M$?

James, if that’s the best you can sling at me, go back to the your xbox and basement.

I don’t sell snakeoil, as I do not own any snakes. Do snakes even produce oil?.. Perhaps you trying to say that people need some oil after getting screwed over by M$ and their continual malware problems.

    In other news….

“Great Big War Game, a popular iOS and Android app, made only £52 in its first week on Windows RT. In an angry blog post titled ‘Windows RT — Born to fail,’ UK-based developer Rubicon blamed Microsoft for the paltry sum and said it won’t be bringing any more of its titles to the fledgling platform. It seems Microsoft refused to promote the app as it would only run on Windows RT devices. However, Microsoft quickly got in touch with Rubicon, and the post was deleted and replaced with an apologetic response saying, ‘Microsoft have graciously decided work with us to iron out the problems and get us past this incident.’ Rubicon will be hoping that £52 figure improves quickly, as it spent £10,000 porting the game to Windows RT.”

It is amazing that M$ is so worried about Windows 8, they turned this around quickly. Spending £10K and getting less then a £100 is crazy.

My suggestion is to all developers to stay away from Windows, especially if you want to make money.

MK, it’s not “bashing” if it’s true. What do you know about the history of Microsoft? Comes v. Microsoft? Stac Electronics? The story behind the departure of Paul Allen? The Halloween Documents? These are all documented examples of Microsoft’s bad behavior. If you can come up with anything remotely similar for Linux or Google, please share it!

My Mission

My observations and opinions about IT are based on 40 years of use in science and technology and lately, in education. I like IT that is fast, cost-effective and reliable. I do not care whether my solution is the same as yours. I like to think for myself.

My first use of GNU/Linux in 2001 was so remarkably better than what I had been using, I feel it is important work to share GNU/Linux with the world. I have been blessed by working in schools where students and school systems have benefited by good, modular software easily installed in most systems.

I have shown GNU/Linux to thousands of students and hundreds of teachers over the years and will continue in some way doing that until I die in spite of the opposition.
