I disagree somewhat. Of course selling bloatware licences will be more difficult but organizations that have "gone public" were inundated with FUD (like Munich). I think for the past few years, organizations have tried to stay below M$'s horizon. M$ uses spies to keep "customers" in line but that doesn't scale well any longer. M$ just isn't big enough to track everyone. I am thankful that sites like Digitimes and Joinup have developed to spread the unbiased truth and to share good news. It would be silly for M$ to try to FUD Android/Linux as they did GNU/Linux because there are just so many users who would laugh at them. I hope this is the last year we see that kind of FUD for GNU/Linux. It, too, has reached critical mass, particularly in Brazil and Europe. China aims to be independent in IT in a few years and can thrive with GNU/Linux. Dell and others are selling GNU/Linux there on retail shelves. Brazil has its own OEMs that just laugh at M$.

This is another big win for FLOSS and for the tax payers of the UK. But it doesn't have to be a loss for Microsoft. It doesn't have to be but they will treat it as such and their followers will too.

The Cult of Microsoft will view this post as more hatred towards Microsoft but it's just news. An organization within the United Kingdom's government has switched over to FLOSS and has reported saving millions in the process. No hatred, just dull, boring facts.

But I can't help a little chuckle. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Life for the Cult of Microsoft will only get more difficult. News items like this one are only going to become more common. And that is what's been happening.

Okay, it was more than a little chuckle, I laughed out loud.
