Excellent description @oiaohm! I definitely think the Vivaldi could break through beyond the "geek market" as well. The thing will come with an office suite (Calligra) out of the box, and can be fully adapted to anyone's tablet habits.

Clarence Moon funny and foolish as normal.

The Vivaldi Tablet is a brother to an Android tablet. In fact close enough you can use the other tablets firmware on it. Difference is the Vivaldi has twice the ram.

So not Android yet. For a developer tablet that you can place any OS you like on the Vivaldi is quite decent. Out box it also support running a OS from the MicroSD slot or usb in a duel boot setup.

Ainol NOVO7 Paladin 512MB DDRII-SDRAM vs 1 gb ram in the Vivaldi.

No support for USB devices on the Ainol.

No support for booting from USB or MicroSD in the Ainol.

So yes the Ainol has a little more flash but you have traded away a lot to get that.

Both tablets can run Google android with approved market access. One just comes with that out the box the other does not.

From a developers point of view Vivaldi Tablet is more usable since you can place all versions of android and other open source OS's on either MicroSD or USB keys and change between them just by changing what is plugged in.

To a non developer the other option might be a good choice.

Mind you there are some Allwinner A10 based tablets out there that are slightly cheaper that have wired network ports on them. But you do have to alter there boot loader to bring them to do what the Vivaldi does out box.

Sorry to say Clarence Moon you picked the wrong table to compare to. Allwinner A10 something would have been the right one.

You would have to be daft to buy such a pig in a poke, Mr. Pogson! The thing is not even Android.

This looks very promising. Although I would like it to be a bit bigger and more powerful it currently appears to be the most open tablet and form what I've seen this one actually has an interface that I would like to use.
